How to Remove Stains From Glass Kettles
3/22/2011A glass kettle can be nice decorative piece, as well as a handy way to make tea. However, stains from the tea will transfer onto the inside (and possibly the outside) of the water kettle each time it is used. These stains may set in if not dealt with as soon as they are noticed. A couple of different homemade glass cleaning solutions will remove such stains without causing any damage to the kettle's surface.
Instructions
Things you'll need:
Water
Sink
Denture tablets
Nonabrasive scrubbing brush
Soft cloths
White vinegar
1. Rinse the inside and outside of the glass kettle with lukewarm tap water. Then, place the kettle in a sink.
2. Fill the sink with enough water to fully submerge the kettle.
3. Drop two to three denture tablets into the sink. Wait until the tablets stop fizzing.
4. Scrub the inside and outside of the kettle with a nonabrasive brush. Dry the kettle with a soft towel. If the kettle is still stained, proceed to the next step.
5. Repeat Steps 1 and 2. Then, add 1/4 cup white vinegar to the sink.
6. Soak the kettle for 30 minutes. Repeat Step 4 to clean and dry the water kettle.
